Also, if you decide to apply online you need your credit or debit card for ally payment. You will also need scanned copies of the required documents. The required document vary based on country. So your country's immigration office will let you know which documents you need.
How Do I Obtain The Canada Student Visa?
Step 1. The first and important step to get your Canadian student visa is to first obtain a formal letter of acceptance from a recognised high institution in Canada. For those who wish to study in Quebec you will also need a certificate of acceptance aka CAQ which will be issued by the government. All these requirements can be obtained online so it's not that stressful.
Step 2. After you have completed the first step, the next step is getting the Canadian student application package. This can be obtained on the CIC website.
Step 3. On the CIC website, you'll be asked some bio-data questions. You will need to answer them correctly in order to get your student visa application package. Be careful not to enter the wrong information and make sure everything you input is verifiable.
Step 4. After the results are out and you find out you are eligible, you will be given a personal checklist code which is valid for 60 days. This code will be used when submitting your application online. Ensure that you have a printout of the page containing the code and also a soft copy for future reference. This page also contains a detailed application guide and estimated tuition fee and the list of crucial document you probably need to submit.
Step 5. The next step is to create a myCIC account when you're ready to apply. this is where you would be needing the personal checklist code you got in step four. Then you would receive your personal document checklist which would allow you upload your document on CIC. For this you will need a printer and scanner.
Step 6. This is the step where your application is submitted to CIC. But before you submit ensure that all documents are ready and you have also paid your fees. Once this is done you can go ahead to submit.
In conclusion, once your application is approved you will receive a port of entry (POE) letter of introduction. This document will be issued to Students from countries that require an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) and/or a temporary resident visa if required. The ETA will be linked to your passport and it's important that you travel with the passport you used in applying for your study permit. This ETA is valid for five years or until your passport expires.
